Palmer VJ, Bibb J, Tjung C, Orcher P, Lee A, Foxcroft A, Banfield M, and The Co-Design Living Labs Network ALIVE National Centre. 2025. A massive online public co-design project to co-create the Phase 3 Consensus Statement – The Middle Horizon 2025 Pathways of people aged 16 to 25 years old and Implementation Actions. The ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation: Melbourne, Australia.
We are sharing the story we’ve created with you about transforming mental health care in Australia.
The Phase 3 Consensus Statement – The Middle Horizon Pathways of Young People 16-25 years old and Implementation Actions https://midd.me/kP5s brings together voices of young people living with mental ill-health, and carers, family or kinship group members supporting people aged 16 to 25 years old, and people who have both experiences, to share priorities and implementation actions. We thank the Australian National University for partnering on this study.
The Consensus Statements are used to set research goals in the co-designed ALIVE National Centre Roadmap for Mental Health Research Translation. The Roadmap is used to establish integrated knowledge translation strategies, goals, activities and targets.
The goals, strategies and targets of the Centre will be updated annually and further as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities co-design paths for what matters, and more priority populations priorities are gathered and co-designed in the Roadmap.
This Consensus Statement sets the course of the pathways of people in the ages of 16 to 25 years old within the Centre’s research efforts. It does not reflect all the diversity of Australia and First Nations communities; there must be local efforts that are focused on implementation levers, and strategies formed in conjunction with these pathways.

The ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, and pay our respects to the Elders, past and present. We are committed to working together to address the health inequities within our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This map attempts to represent the language, social or nation groups of Aboriginal Australia. It shows only the general locations of larger groupings of people which may include clans, dialects or individual languages in a group.
