Mad Studies is the discipline of centering Mad knowledge, the history, culture, economics, politics and issues relating to Mad people.
There is a gap in how Mad Studies is operationalised in practice e.g. Mad led practice/ anti sanist (oppressive) practice.
We also have a literacy issue around sanism, we need a national anti sanism campaign to resist against the wishy washy unaccountable stigma. Anti discrimination law refers to ableism – emotional and mental ableism is sanism.
